Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge - it's a wrap!

I think this may have been the fastest 7 weeks I've had to date.  I am sure I am not alone when I say I am sad to see the HBBC end this year.  Throughout the challenge, we've had a Facebook group where I've gained inspiration and enjoyed watching others accomplish goals and get their workouts in.  It seems weird that I don't have to "check-in" and tell everyone what I've got planned for the day.

How did the last week go for me?  I am in full on taper mode for the Goofy Challenge this coming weekend but I still netted over 41 points!  That's pretty good considering my mileage was low.

I made up my own at home workout on New Year's Eve doing not only the WOW and picking up a point but also some stuff I've done over time in TRX and I spent some time on the trainer too.  I can't wait to get to that more often after Goofy and to really challenge myself on the trainer.

I kicked off the New Year with not one but two races - a 5K solo on a snow covered trail and I paced a 5K with a friend.  Knocked out 2 of the 13 in 2013 challenge on day 1 of the new year!  Woohoo!

I set a New Year's Resolution Run goal that's totally achievable.

And seemed to inspire others to consider the same.  I worked on 2013 goals and updated different parts of the blog that needed updated.

I met a friend who had been on a holiday vacation for a quick 4 miler on Wednesday and Thursday I ended up doing a tempo workout before I headed to get my hair done for my date with Dopey this weekend.

My new Dopey figurine that I got for Christmas.
Friday I pushed myself through an awesome power flow yoga class with my favorite teacher at PAI at the very early morning hour of 5:30AM and vowed to make it a regular class.  Then I treated myself to a pre-Goofy massage.

Saturday was the official kick-off of the MIT winter session and we ice skated through our mileage.

Doesn't begin to capture the size of the group!

Ice & snow = no fun.
And although the challenge ended officially yesterday, I made it out for 4 miles today too and really enjoyed the lack of snow & ice on the trail.  Had a wonderful, healthy brunch with Biv at Northstar Cafe and wondered if I have to turn in my walker card because of my reading selection.

I'm subscribing!

The last week by the numbers:

Monday - Shoveling, WOW, 20 homegrown workout, 15 on trainer, freggies, FB = 8.5
Tuesday - (2) 5Ks for a total of 6.24 miles, FB, 1 point for Res. Run pic = 8.24
Wednesday - 4 Miles, freggies, FB = 6
Thursday - 3 miles, freggies, FB - 5
Friday - 75 minutes yoga, freggies, FB = 5.5
Saturday - 7 miles, FB = 8
Total = 41.24

I am pleased with how the challenge went for me this year.  I've met some new people and look forward to following their training over the next year.  And I've picked up a few new readers!  All in all?  I found it to be a huge success for me!

Did you participate in HBBC?

Will you try it next year?
